Library

122nd Street School boasts a beautiful Wonder of Reading Library that includes current fiction and non fiction titles, an amphitheater area for students to sit and hear stories, tables and chairs for students to read comfortably, and a librarian station.  Students are allowed to check out books to take home, after returning the school's Parent Permission Slip.

Our Librarian, Mrs. Prudhomme, reads to students each time they visit the library.  She pairs fiction and nonfiction books related to the same topic, and shares her personal pictures related to those same topics.

Ms. Prudhomme always has displays for the students to become engaged with.  Her displays exhibit a variety of subjects or themes related to culture, science, history, nature, and fiction. The year before last, she created an extensive Star Wars display when the latest movie: Solo: A Star Wars Story was released on May 24, 2018.

Mrs. Prudhomme believes that reading takes you everywhere and stimulates the imagination and that we all should read something everyday.
